💗 My FND Journey: From Surviving to Conquering Snowdon 🏔️
There was a time when I wasn’t sure whether I would ever walk independently again.
In 2026, my life changed dramatically. I lost my independence, spent time in hospital and faced a future I could never have imagined. After being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), I fought to secure a place in neurological rehabilitation.
For seven agonising months, I was away from my family and my children, learning how to walk and function again. Every step was hard-won. Recovery has been unpredictable, and FND continues to affect my life, but I have worked tirelessly to regain my mobility, rebuild my confidence and find my way forward.
Through my social media page “Still Me”, I share my journey, raise awareness of FND and remind others living with this misunderstood condition that they are not alone. FND can take away so much, but it does not take away our identity, determination or right to dream.
🏔️ My next challenge: Conquer Snowdon in 2027!
On 5 June 2027, I’ll join Amy Nash, Welsh Ambassador for FND Connect, and the FND Connect Army to climb Snowdon.🧗♀️
Amy is creating an incredible army of people united by their experiences of FND, their determination to raise awareness and their belief that we can achieve more together. As the Welsh FND Connect Ambassador, she is bringing people together, building strength through community and showing that no one affected by FND has to face their journey alone.
Together, we will conquer Snowdon—not just as individuals, but as an army💪🏼. Everyone taking part will bring their own story, challenges and reasons for climbing. We will support and encourage one another, celebrating every step we take together.
For me, this is far more than a mountain climb. It represents every difficult step I have taken since losing my mobility, every setback I have overcome and every moment I chose to keep going when giving up would have been easier.
I’m climbing to prove that FND does not define my limits. I can still set goals, challenge myself and make a difference—one determined step at a time.
⭐️Why your sponsorship matters
FND is a real and often misunderstood neurological condition. Many people living with FND struggle to access an appropriate diagnosis, specialist rehabilitation, practical support and understanding.
FND Connect works to raise awareness, provide support and help people affected by FND feel less isolated. Your sponsorship could help make that support possible for someone who may be frightened, misunderstood or unsure where to turn.
Every donation, no matter how small, can help raise awareness and remind people with FND that they are seen, heard and believed.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing my fundraising page, talking about FND and helping spread the message is just as valuable. Your support could reach someone who desperately needs to know they are not alone.
Please sponsor me, share my story and join us on this journey as we build an army of hope, courage and determination. 🙏🏻
Still Me. Still Fighting. Still Climbing.
